Mid-East Madness
What is it about this religious war in the Mid-East with the Palestinians and Israelis? It seems to me that the "war" started as a fight over land, but some how I think it has transformed. Now its become an obsession of there hatred of one another, and now no matter what we (the U.S.) do to try to help. They just want to kill each other more and more.
The problems with their land dispute it that there are only a few options. The first is to go back to the agreement of 1967, but I dont know
much about this option. The next is to leave it all the way it is but make it so people can go back and forth to Jerusalem and Bethlehem to do their worshipping thing when they have to and then go back home, or to the farm, whatever. This would take care of many problems.
If some how we solve there land problems, they will still hate one another. I mean it is what they have been raised on after all. A great way to solve this is to put something into the water to keep them from having kids. The only problem with that is that it would basically be genocide, and thats not good. And after something like that happening another group may come in and it may start all over again. Next thing you know is that were the only people sane left on the planet. Then life will suck because there is no variety left.
Option two would be to take control of their school systems. When doing this we could preach the heck out of them about peace and not to hate you neighbor (good stuff). We can also give them a good education and all those good things. This is probably the best thing for them, and us I suppose. But very few people want to be teachers any more. So who knows where this one would really end up.
Another option is to make Jerusalem its own self contained country like the Vatican in Italy. Then you could make a border like the Berlin wall to separate the two (2) countries. This in itself would solve the whole problem of who controls the hill or whatever. It may not help with them hating each other, but cares there will be a wall between them. The next option is the most drastic and obviously the last option to take.
The last possible option is to take over both countries. This would require the most resources out of every thing and cost the most manpower. When I said take over I meant total take over and make them territories like Puerto Rico or Guam. So them we can watch over them, and them like the little kids they are. If we take them over we could tax them and protect them like our states. This would make life a little bit easier than now. We could launch attacks on Saddam Hussein and the other
evil doers (as President Bush calls them) in that area. That is why this was the last option.
In the end it ends up all being a bug pain in the rear. If we try to take over the land, or try to solve the dispute by rearranging the land. If we try to stop them from hating each other it uses a lot of resources too. So Im not sure what the best thing to do is, besides doing nothing, I suppose.
